چکیده
A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted in the Department of Ophthalmology, Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka Cantonment, Bangladesh, between November 2017 and May 2018, to assess keratometric results clear corneal incision on steep meridian patients with preoperative astigmatism during phacoemulsification cataract surgery. After obtaining written informed consent, a total 40 age ranged 70 years were selected. All examined pre- postoperatively after 1 week 3 months for evaluation astigmatism. Keratometry done by using an autorefractometer autokeratometer. Astigmatism calculated from data vector analysis. The mean participants 52±9.1 years. Male predominance observed as male-female ratio 1.7:1. change post-operative 0.44±0.20 temporal group 0.19±0.00 superior group; both statistically significant (P<0.001). difference groups 0.375 Postoperative <0.5D 16(40%) when given at site 8(20%) site. significantly (P<0.05) decreased more comparison Our suggest that preexisting majority placed has less surgically induced than incision.

Opposite Clear Corneal Incisions versus Steep Meridian Incision Phacoemulsification for Correction of Pre-existing Astigmatism
PURPOSE To compare the efficacy of adding an opposite clear corneal incision (OCCI) on the steep meridian versus performing surgery on the steep meridian alone during phacoemulsification in reducing pre-existing corneal astigmatism. METHODS This randomized clinical trial was performed on 120 eyes with corneal astigmatism of >1D undergoing phacoemulsification. Incisions were made based on the ...

GOALS To evaluate the effect of micro-incision (2.2 mm) and small-incision (3.0 mm) coaxial phaco-emulsification on surgically induced astigmatism (SIA). METHODS Cataract patients (n = 60, 60 eyes) were randomized into two groups: 30 eyes in the 2.2-mm incision group, 30 eyes in the 3,0-mm group. Phaco-emulsification was followed by intraocular lens implantation via the Monarch II injector wi...

OBJECTIVES To evaluate surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) in biaxial microincision cataract surgery with enlargement of one corneal incision during intraocular lens implantation (IOL). MATERIALS AND METHODS Data from 683 eyes with cataract that underwent biaxial microincision cataract surgery and IOL were retrospectively analyzed. The operated eyes were divided into 4 groups defined by fina...

AIM To compare the safety and efficacy of phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery (SICS) in patients with uveitic cataract. METHODS In a prospective, randomized multi-centric study, consecutive patients with uveitic cataract were randomized to receive phacoemulsification or manual SICS by either of two surgeons well versed with both the techniques. A minimum inflammation free ...

Purpose: To examine the visual and refractive results of cataract surgery by phacoemulsification method in patients with keratoconus. Methods: In this retrospective study, the files of patients with keratoconus, who underwent phacoemulsification between 2008 and 2017, were evaluated.
